Finding More Customers & Increasing Your Sales.


The main difference between a successful Oriflame consultant and one that is struggling is the amount of customers that they have. Find more customers and invariably you'll increase your sales. So that's all well and good, but once you've gone through all your family and friends, how DO you find more people that want to buy Oriflame? Here are some of my favourite tips for increasing your customer base.

You've all heard the tips for standing in car parks or shopping centres to hand out brochures right? Well I don't know about you but I hate going up to perfect strangers and introducing myself. Sure you can say "Hi, I'm mike an Oriflame consultant , would you like a Catalogue ?', and I'm sure it would work sometimes - but I don't know about you, but I hate just approaching people I don't know trying to get new business.
So instead you need to think smarter about your Oriflame business.

The two main areas you'll need to concentrate on is marketing and advertising, just like a regular business.

• Getting business cards is a good idea (get them free from Vistaprint whenever they have deals) or print them yourself on your home printer.
• You can make flyers, brochures, postcards or just use the Oriflame Catalogue with your Oriflame selling strategy.
So, Here are Some Quick oriflame Flyer Ideas
Creating oriflame flyers is a great way to get your name out there. Most flyers have those tear off tabs at the bottom which are great, but let's face it, most people lose them as they are pretty flimsy.
Instead why not attach a few business cards to your flyers - then the customer can grab one from your flyer and then keep it in her wallet longer (much better than tiny bits of paper).
Also when creating your flyers, only use ONE idea per flyer. For example - promote ONE product on your flyer - 'did you know that for May only, Oriflame lipsticks are just £2.99? - call me for your colour selection'. Don't try and crowd the paper with lots of products or services.

Think About WHO Your Customer Is

Put your business thinking cap on - what type of customers are interested in buying oriflame products? Stay at home moms who can't get to the shops easily, older couples who aren’t so mobile any more, regular busy working women?
Now think about where they hang out: Moms - at home, Working Women - offices, Elderly Women - home or retirement homes
Your next step is to create a marketing strategy around your specific customer.
Let's use the stay at home mom as an example.
She doesn't have a lot of time (who does these days!) so make things easy for her to buy from you. Create a Mom Pamper Pack!
In the pack include a brochure, your business card, a few samples, and order form and an envelope. Put it in a nice little bag (see through ones are best - I've found using freezer bags from Tesco are great and very economical).
Put a nice message or note attached to the front of the bag or brochure. Something like: "I thought you would enjoy some time out for yourself, enjoy the samples and if you ever need to order anything just put the order form in the envelope and I'll be around at Friday 10a.m. to collect it, Take care and have a great day, Mike".
Hang the brochure on her door knob or leave at the front step.
It's friendly - non threatening and likely to get a good response. I'd continue doing it each few weeks too until she orders or tells you that she isn't interested in buying Oriflame

Your Oriflame selling goal for this strategy:


Try and add ONE new customer each catalogue for the next 10 Catalogues . You should be able to pick up one new customer for every 10 or 15 packs you give out.
Where Do You Find Customers?
As a new Consultant (or an existing Consultant looking to increase your business) you are probably wondering where to find your customers.
Here is a quick list of some of my favourite places for finding new customers.
#1. Friends/Family
Ok, so you already know this one, but friends and family truly are the best places to start. Sometimes family members can be a bit skeptical at first, but if you act positive usually they'll respond positively back.
Often I've found a good tactic for a friend or family member who says 'You'll never make money with oriflame is to reply, 'Maybe you could help me get started then, can you leave a few brochures at your work/playgroup/hangout for me?'. Usually you'll get a reluctant yes but then a few days later they'll be so proud of themselves for getting you a few orders !
#2. Dropping Catalogues
I'm sure we have all done this one with varying degrees of success, and while this isn't my preferred method of finding customers, if you are consistent you can build up a good customer base.
Usually it takes between 3 to 5 times before someone will order from you, and as a general rule for every 100 brochures you put out, you might receive only 1 or 2 orders.
In the beginning this method will probably only have you break even with your costs, but if you remain consistent and drop every single catalogue (or until a customer says they don't wish to see a
brochure anymore) then you can build up to about 25-30 per 100 houses over at least 7-10 catalogues .
After a house hasn't ordered after 10 catalogues then it's up to you whether to continue to drop at that house or not. I usually leave it for a while, but then drop again at Christmas.
If you decide not to continue dropping at that house, sometimes it's nice to include a little note after the 10th catalogue that says something like:
"Hi, I'm [your name], your local Oriflame Consultant , I hope you've enjoyed seeing all the lovely items oriflame has in the brochures, if you'd like to continue to see them each catalogue (or less often if you prefer), then give me a quick call/email and I'll make sure you remain on my list of houses to drop to."
Keeping it friendly and no pressure usually works best.
#3. Talking to people you meet
When you meet new people and they ask you what you do, what do you say?
Instead of just replying "I do oriflame " or "I sell oriflame ", I find the best opening line is to say something enticing and interesting like "I let people pamper themselves at home using oriflame products"
Saying something different like this usually starts a conversation and then you can ask if they've seen a brochure recently and build from there.
#4. Talking to Strangers
One of the hardest things to do for most new Consultants (and even experienced Consultants!) is to ask a stranger if they are interested in oriflame.
I find the best way is to either be casually browsing a catalogue  yourself and if anyone seems to be paying attention to what you are doing, smile and say 'have you seen the latest catalogue?'.

A fellow Consultant had great success with carrying around a hand cream in her purse. At any sitting opportunity (bus, coffee shop, picking up kids from school) she would apply the hand cream and ask if anyone else needed to use some. Very often people would say yes and then comment on how lovely the hand cream was, at which she would apply, 'oh I'm an Oriflame Consultant, if you ever need any yourself I can get it for you ..' Clever huh!

The best way to be a successful Oriflame Consultant is to raise your sales. When starting out as an Oriflame Consultant it takes time to get new customer and achieve a higher sales. You have to first start by getting a Good customer base and then you will see your sales begin to rise.
Raising your sales is the most part important part of being an Oriflame Consultant and making your business successful. There are many strategies for raising your sales and your profit. Here are some Tips for raising your Oriflame sales:

Up Sell!

Up selling is one of the easiest ways to raise your sales. Up selling is simply recommending products that go with other products your customer is buying. For example, if your customer is buying her favourite lipstick, suggest a lip liner that goes with it. If she is buying a face cleanser suggest a moisturizer or eye cream. There are many possibilities for up selling and usually work out very well. As a result you will get higher sales due to the extra products ordered.
 

Mix and Match Sales


Mix and match sales are a great way for Oriflame consultant to raise their sales. Simply choose your favourite products and a set price. Your customers are more likely to buy items that go together as a set and will appreciate the discount from the sale. One example of a good mix and match sale is the Royal Velvet . Since most products range from £10- £20 offer a Mix and Match Sale for something like "Buy any 2 Products for £25 Mix or Match!" This will give them a up to £5 off depending on what items they get. While it may take away from your profits on that order, it will help put you into a higher earnings bracket which will raise your profit for your entire order!

Phone-a-thon

Phone-a-thons are very popular and are a great way to raise your sales with out even leaving the house! Create a flyer or post card to put in each brochure for 2-3 catalogues prior to the date of your phone-a-thon. Create your phone-a-thon hours and sales and be sure to put them on your flyer! You could offer and incentives like this:
Call between 8am and 10am and receive 20% off your order.
Call between 10am and 12pm and receive 15% off your order.
Call between 12pm and 5pm and receive 10% off your order.
Customers love to do phone-a-thons because not only are they fun but they get to save money. You can also offer a drawing for the particular day that says anyone who places an order during the phone-a-thon will be
Entered into a drawing for a special gift. You can offer a single product, a gift basket or a gift certificate! This will entice more customers to participate and will insure a higher sales level!

Customer Reward Cards

Customer reward cards are a great way to reward your customers while raising your sales level. You can create a customer reward card by using business cards and print them out yourself from your computer. You can get a pack of 200 business cards for about £4. Simply make a line for their name, your information and then put 10-20 icons around the frame of the card. You can your "£10"
squares, little lipsticks, hearts or anything else that would allow you enough space to punch a whole using a hole punch. Tell your customer for every set amount that they spend they get a punch out. You can do £10, £20, or £25 increments. Once their card is full they earn a percentage or a free gift with their next order. They will love it and will be willing to spend more while will raise your sales.
More Customers = More Sales
Again, the best way to raise sales is to have more customers. The more customers you have the more orders you have and in return the higher your sales. Try getting more customers!

I ran across these tips somewhere long ago I can't remember where. There are some good ideas here, the important point is to be creative and think of any and all ways to get the word out. Remember your Catalogues is your store front; all your inventory is there, the more people that see your products the more sales you'll make!
1 Take advantage of the advertising of others.
2. Call others about their ads and offer them your service.
3. Post flyers.
4. Leave catalogues at beauty salons and nail shops.
5. Wear a badge.
8. Let your bank know. Give the teller a catalogue.
9. Barter-Trade your product/service.
10. Hang a flyer inside a bathroom stall door. Captive audience.
11. Always have a catalogue in your car or purse.
12. Use bumper stickers.
13. Let everyone you ever worked with know what you do.
14. Make a goal to give out a certain number of cards per day.
15. Hand out your business card with all transactions each day. Always ask for a business card in return.
16. Free lunch drawings. Put your card in fish bowls.
17. Get a restaurant to sponsor your drawing.
18. Magnetize your business card.
19. Use your card as a bookmark in the library books. Leave them in the books when you return them.
20. Instead of tear flyers use your business card at the bottom of the flyer.
21. Look for bulletin boards and leave a flyer.
22. Hang a sign on your car window about your business.
23. e-bay Ads
24. Fundraiser Car Washes--stop in and tell them of your fundraiser.
25. Put up catalogues in all waiting rooms.
26. Join a club or network group.
27. Corporate Gift Giving. Offer your product.
28. Leave a lead box in businesses you go to a lot.
29. Go door to door--introduce yourself and your business
30. Look on the internet for new bulletin boards to post your product.
31. Fast food, where the Moms are.
32. Always keep flyers with you to hand out.
33. Former Business Associates.
34. Former Customers
35. Go to garage sales or Car boot sales. Give them flyers to pass out for you. Offer a gift incentive.
36. Wear a name tag when going shopping.
37. Home Shows
38. Home Owner Association. Put an ad in their paper.
39. College newspapers and bulletin boards.
40. Hospital waiting rooms--Always leave a catalogue.
41. Always wear a logo to the Gym.
42. Do cross-promotions with other businesses

as you can see there are many ways for you to "get the word out there", there is no being timid here. If you're serious about building your Oriflame business you need to be on top of it and that includes the marketing of your business. I suggest you make an effort to add to this list, think of your
own ideas and put them to work, some will work better than others (some won't work at all but you won't know until you try
